Movie Review :- KAITHI (Tamil)

Movie Review :- KAITHI

Kaithi is a 2019 Tamil language action thriller movie written and directed by Lokesh kanagaraj.

Dilli (played by Karthi)  is a murder convict on parole, his daughter named Amudha lives in an orphanage and both of the them are eager to meet each other for the first time. In the midst of this father-daugher story is a drug mafia and the cops.
Bejoy a top cop manages to sieze drugs and hides it in a secret cell in a police station, the gangsters plan to kill bejoy and his five officers , in their pursuit of the drugs back from the police they successfully inject sedatives in the drinks that are consumed by the police officers including the police commissioner due to which they become unconscious. Dilli unfortunately gets dragged into this game between the police and the gangsters, on the orders of Bejoy Dilli has to drive a lorry with all the unconscious police officers with Bejoy and a cook to the police station ,with some unexpected hurdles on their way, will Dilli be able to complete his task and meet his daughter forms the crux of the story.

Kaithi is an intense thriller drama with good action sequences, the director sets the tone of the movie right from the beginning.
The screenplay is engaging and keeps you at edge of your seat. The background score is very effective and amplifies the impact of the scenes. The cinematography by Sathyam Sooryan is fantastic. Talking about performances Karthi is superb with his rustic look as Dilli, right from his first scene he is a treat to watch. Arjun das as anbu has given a powerful performance, baby Monica as dilli's daughter is cute and has done her part very well and all other actors have done a fabulous job .
Although Kaithi keeps you engrossed it could have been more engaging in the first half, Dilli's past story could have been shown, but these are some minor glitches that I felt and one can easily neglect them .

So overall,if you love action thriller movies with a sharp and straight to the point storytelling then Kaithi is a much watch for you.
